Rhoose and The Vale Model Railway Group.

Rhoose and The Vale Model Railway Group are now holding regular club nights on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm at Rhoose Social Club. The well established 'OO' gauge layout is in the process of being refurbished and re-developed but there is still plenty to do. Running can take place on three seperate circuits. The 'O' gauge layout ( Llanarthur and Oakhaven ) has, like Brunel's broad gauge, gone. (It lives on elswhere).Boards have been set up and work commenced on an 'N' gauge Continental layout. Meetings for this also take place on Thursday at 7.30pm.  Ad-hoc meetings are arranged to get the layout up and running (usually during an afternoon 2pm to 4pm).New members and visitors are encouraged to attend and are always made welcome.Whether anestablished modeller or someone relatively new to the world of miniature modelling..........why not drop in for a chat. If you have a model railway at home and would like to run your locomotives and rolling stock on the club layout, or perhaps need a little advice and encouragement in planning your own layout then please come along and meet the team.We also proudly boast a comprehensive libray of books, videos and DVDs.

WATUSI FESTIVAL 2011 - A Solar-Powered Festival For South Wales, 2nd- 4th September, Fonmon Castle Grounds.

Watusi Festival is back for 2011! After a great success in 2010 we’ve found a new, amazing, beautiful site: Fonmon Castle Grounds. Just 4km from last years site, we’ve relocated to the grounds of the 13th century castle with its woodland walk ways, stone wall paddocks, and sweeping views.

We’ve increased the arts offering with a new focus on theatre and cabaret, expanded the eco-area and added a well-being and healing zone. We stay family friendly with the kids zone, and increase the sleep by having a camping area sheltered by trees.

What’s more we’ve increased the length of the event by one day, with a full programme of events into Sunday night so you wanna make sure you stay over until monday.

We’re keeping it a boutique festival with a community feel and no intrusive advertising for brand x all over the place. All in all it should be a lovely lovely event!

please note, as ever, everything is subject to change
